Single-screw extruders

Single-screw extruders

Polish plastic processing extruders, built by Ekochem with top-class European components, offer a reliable and high-performance technological solution proven by over 200 satisfied customers in 5 different European countries.

The extruders are driven by an AC motor controlled by an inverter, and are equipped with a feed system designed for operation with granules, regrinds, or powder. Monolithic or segmented screws are suitable for processing a wide range of plastic materials.

Our offer includes standard extruders and custom-made models:
• screw diameter: 20 ÷ 250 [mm]
• L/D ratio: 20 ÷ 48
• efficiency: 10 ÷ 2000 [kg/h]

An analysis of customer needs enables the design of custom functions and parameters, resulting in reduced purchasing and operational costs.

Frequently
Asked Questions

The efficiency ranges from 10 kg/h to 2000 kg/h, depending on the screw diameter (20-250 mm), length-diameter ratio (L/D:20-48), and other structural parameters.

Sure. It is possible to modify a single-screw extruder to add powder. Such a solution is common in plastics processing and extends the machine’s functionality.

A polymer melt filtration system is a key component of the regranulation process, determining its quality and stability. In practice, we apply several solutions, depending on the type of contaminants, the purity of the input material, and the requirements of the end product.

Precise production and delivery dates are determined individually after the machine specifications have been approved. Please contact our technical and sales departments to estimate the lead time.

Degassing is a key stage in the process of regranulation and foil extrusion from recycled material, particularly when the input material contains moisture, printing inks, volatile organic compounds or adhesives. Our lines (and, generally, all modern single-screw extruders) use a few technical solutions.

Yes, one single-screw extruder may be used for processing different plastics, but there are certain reservations and technical requirements.

The process of regranulation of plastics (e.g., post-industrial waste, foils, regrinds) in single-screw extruders or regranulation lines consists of a few stages. Depending on the type of material used (foil, fibres, rigid waste), different solutions are applied (direct feed, compactor or thickening).

The energy consumption ranges from 0.2 to 0.37 kW/kg, depending on the type of processed material.

Yes, Ekochem from Głogowo has a wide range of solutions and innovations which not only prove our technological advancement but also facilitate the process of adapting our extruders to the requirements of various funding programmes, including EU grants.

What pelletising options are available (strand, die-face, underwater), and in what situations does each solution provide the best granulate stability?
