Plastics processing shredders

For many years, we have been delivering efficient and durable shredders and crushers for plastics. Our machines are equipped with rotors with a highly-efficient double-blade cutting system. 

Available shredders have rotors with lengths ranging from 300 mm to 2000 mm and diameters ranging from 300 mm and 800 mm. Our shredders have a manual or hydraulic system of opening the chamber, which allows for easy maintenance of the cutting chamber, adjustment and fixing of blades, and replacement of filters. This series features a feed hopper with newly-developed soundproofing material, reliable technology, and advanced acoustic insulation.

The shredder is equipped with oversized rotor bearings, blade mounts, and a rotor shaft. Standard V-shaped cut produces high-quality regrind with a very low percentage of powder in the output material.  

A removable third blade acts as a separating wedge and allows the machine to be quickly reconfigured to different applications. Other standard features include easily replaceable and wear-resistant plates in the cutting chamber, as well as external bearings which minimise the risk of contamination.

Yes, our shredders may be equipped with sound-absorbing housings, dust removal systems, and metal separators. They contribute to a quieter, safer and more efficient operation.

Precise production and delivery dates are determined individually after the machine specifications have been approved. Please contact our technical and sales departments to estimate the lead time.

Shredder maintenance includes regular blade sharpening and replacement, inspection and replacement of bearings, and inspections of mechanical and electrical parts. Blades are sharpened every couple of weeks (depending on workload), whereas bearings are replaced after a few hundred to a few thousand operating hours. We provide maintenance support and spare parts.

Usually between 400 and 800 RPM, depending on the machine type and size. Smaller shredders have higher RPM (600-800 RPM), whereas bigger ones are slower (400-600 RPM) to maintain operation stability and optimal quality of regrinds.

We use screens with diameters ranging from 4 to 20 mm (typically: 6-12 mm), depending on the material and required fraction. All shredders are equipped with fast screen replacement and safety systems, which protect against opening the chamber during machine operation.

Our shredders are equipped with rotors whose length ranges from 300 to 1200 mm and different blade configurations – usually 3-7 moving blades in the rotor and 2-4 unmoving blades. Both rotor and blade configurations are individually adjusted to the type of material (foil, rigid waste, pipes, waste).

Our shredders and lines handle processing of a wide range of materials: PE/PP foil (LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, PP), agricultural foil and stretch wraps, PET bottles and preforms, as well as rigid waste such as pipes, profiles, boxes, and other waste.

Our shredders (rotors with double shafts) and other shredding machines offer output capacities ranging from several kg/h in small machines to several hundred or even over 1000 kg/h (e.g., Herbold PU 500 Twin shredder for hard plastics). It always depends on the rotor diameter, material type, and desired functions.

We can. Apart from our standard shredders, we offer shredders with a washing function and full material processing lines, e.g., an integrated system of a shredder + washing tank + squeezer. This way, our customers receive a turnkey solution that not only shreds but also washes, removes moisture, and prepares material for further regranulation.
