Our client, a global leader in the food packaging industry, employs over 800 people in six facilities, including locations in Germany, Poland, and France. It has high-standard production facilities, proprietary expertise, and advanced technology, while its products are valued for their exceptional quality. Our Construction and Technological Department designed and made two production lines located at the client’s two facilities – one in Poland and the other in Germany. They underwent testing at our company, and then were delivered and successfully commissioned at the client’s facilities.
Problem
The problem we encountered was limited technological capacity for regranulation caused by demanding material and its high melt flow index. The client could not find a supplier who would offer a suitable solution/technological line.
Action…
Both our laboratory and the production department carried out multiple internal tests on the delivered material, including a pilot trial on similar machines in a laboratory setup. The test results allowed us to select the appropriate geometry of the plasticising system with a melt pump to stabilise the material flow pulsation and a pelletising system adapted to materials with a high MFI.
…and a solution
We transferred the results of the laboratory tests onto an industrial-scale pelletising line. After completing the internal acceptance tests, we delivered and installed the solution at the client’s facilities, both in Poland and in Germany.
