RESEARCH TO MARKET

WW Ekochem Sp. z o.o. is running a project named ‘Implementation of the results of R&D works on thermoplastic elastomers with reduced toxicity – an innovation with high export potential’, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020.

The objective of this EU-funded project is to implement the results of the R&D works and to launch the production of an innovative product – a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compound with reduced toxicity and unique, on a global scale, functional and mechanical properties.

The project will lead to the introduction to the market of the first TPE with reduced toxicity and entirely new properties, exceeding competitive products manufactured by the industry leaders.

European funds: PLN 5,774,065.00
Total value of the project: PLN 11,433,480.00

WW Ekochem completed this project on 31 December 2019.

Its objective was to introduce a new product to the market – a TPE compound with reduced toxicity when in direct contact with human skin cells, low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), reduced density, and increased tensile strength.

This project was implemented in four stages:

Stage 1: Construction of a production facility with a separate laboratory.

Stage 2: Outfitting the laboratory (physiochemical testing lab) of the newly-constructed production facility.

Stage 3: Construction of a comprehensive and specialised production line for thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) – Step 1.

Stage 4: Construction of a comprehensive and specialised production line for thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) – Step 2.
