Most important parameters of our laboratory extruders
Keep the production process smooth even under heavy workloads. No downtime or delays.
The ‘Plug & Produce’ concept translates into a shorter startup time and allows for obtaining stable production parameters quickly. The machine is ready for efficient operation from day one.
Automatic operating height adjustment. Fully integrable with different technological lines.
Allows for checking all operating parameters, including remote monitoring of temperature, pressure, screw speed, energy consumption, and offers cloud-based archiving of production data and full maintenance support.
Modern drives, energy-efficient heaters, and optimised temperature control reduce energy consumption and production costs.
Quick couplings guarantee easy connection of additional heating zones, whereas the pre-installed connections enable seamless integration of dosing systems.
A modern PLC control system ensures intuitive control and real-time monitoring of all operating parameters. A recipe saving function allows for fast changeover of the production process, while data archiving facilitates quality control and process optimisation. The system offers:
- remote monitoring of operating parameters (temperature, pressure, screw speed, energy consumption),
- monitoring of efficiency and OEE,
- fault and alarm notifications,
- remote diagnostics and maintenance support,
- cloud-based archiving of production data,
- energy consumption analysis, process optimisation,
- predictive maintenance.

Applications
Capabilities and configurations of laboratory extruders made by Ekochem
Our machines are based on components by renowned manufacturers. Hoyer or Siemens motors, Vacoon or Twerd vector inverters, Rossi Motoriduttori gearboxes, supported by modern Eaton, LG or Siemens electronic components, make reliable equipment with a long service life. This is the WJ Reliable™ philosophy.
The WJ Flex™ technology allows us to configure each extruder to perfectly meet your production needs. We select an appropriate screw diameter, feeding system, degassing system, as well as additional components.
Our offer includes single-screw extruders for processing homogeneous plastics, designed for mixing, homogenising, as well as aerating or degassing various materials.
By choosing Ekochem's extruders, you get a machine which allows you to safely work with HDPE, LDPE, PP, PETG, PVC, PA, and PC materials, not only in the form of virgin materials or regranulate. This grants you full flexibility, convenience and safety. We provide full technical support and consulting at each stage of the cooperation.

How do we solve problems of our clients from the packaging industry?
Frequently
Asked Questions
Which industries can benefit from Ekochem’s extruders?
Single- and twin-screw extruders are used whenever rubber or plastics compounds need to be processed or developed under laboratory conditions. Our machines are used by companies from, among others, the automotive, construction, packaging, toy, and electrochemical industries.
What is so special about the cooling system used in Ekochem’s extruders?
Our machines use the WJ SafeCool™ stable process cooling system. The closed-loop cooling circuit with a heat exchanger maintains optimum operating conditions, increases machine reliability and reduces water consumption. This helps you lower your production costs.
How do you choose an extruder’s plasticising system?
The screw geometry is adjusted to the type of processed material and ensures uniform plasticisation, stable material flow and high quality of the end product. Upon your request, we can also add a degassing system, feeding system and various other additional components.
What are the advantages of single-screw extruders and when should I choose twin-screw extruders?
Single-screw extruders are most suitable for processing one material (e.g., cables or pipes). Twin-screw extruders are designed for compounding additives, colourants and plastics that are heat-sensitive or have other characteristics that make them difficult to process.
Which parameters impact the processing quality?
The temperature profile in the barrel, the screw speed, as well as the pressure and temperature in the die are key factors affecting the extrusion process. The result is also affected by the L/D ratio, i.e., the screw’s length-to-diameter ratio and its geometry.
What is the purpose of the degassing system?
An integrated degassing system removes moisture and volatile compounds from the processed material. It prevents the formation of air bubbles, which lower material strength and the aesthetic value of the end product.
